Angel in Disguise

“Take a look at the ordinary
Don’t need to look for Paradise
You could be next to an angel in disguise
Everyday can be legendary
Every minute, an endless surprise…”
This is taken from a Corrine May song which I really like. You know, we always look out for extraordinary things to happen, pray for miracles, search for special experiences, yearn for big surprises…Yet, it is often the little things, the ordinary things, the simple things that make our day and show us the beauty in life. If only we look a little harder not with our eyes but with our hearts; if only we appreciate the people and things around us a bit more; will we be able to see the angels around us: That colleague who placed 2 teabags on your table to invigorate your day, another colleague who stopped by your seat to offer you a bite of her yummy $1 Wall’s ice-cream, someone who remembered a special day, someone who gave you a smile when you least expected it, someone who came up to you at the end of class and thanked you personally for an interesting lesson you just conducted…
“The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us, and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are gone.” ~ George Eliot
Don’t wait till the angels are gone before you realise that they have been beside you all the while…
Oh, and can’t wait to attend the Corrine May concert this weekend!
