Lessons learned from Icarus?

What then are the lessons to be learnt from the life of Icarus, that sea-plunging, wing-melting Greek figure? That we should be obedient and heed the advice of our elders? That we should not fly too close to the sun as it would melt our wings or not too close to the sea as it would dampen the wax and make it hard to fly? That a life of mediocrity (not too high, not too late, just right…like Goldilocks) is the safe way to go? Or that we should always try, and that even if we fall, we fall not with a lack of trying?

One Response to “Lessons learned from Icarus?”

  1. Received an e-mail comment from my friend on Icarus. This is what she wrote:

“Icarus – starting to learn abt him from yr blog and starting to fall in love with him too … perhaps it’s simply cos he dares!”
