Dreaming of Icarus

“It’s just like Icarus ascending never intending to look back.

Nature’s law and your tragic flaw I find descending

flying into the arms of a Venus flytrap.”

I have a strange affinity to the story of Icarus. Maybe it’s the idea of having wings. Or maybe it’s the idea of being able to fly. Or maybe it’s the idea of having the sun kiss your face. Or maybe it’s the feeling of tumbling to earth with wings that are melting. Or maybe it’s just the fact that his name starts with ‘I’, just like mine.
