Teaching is about learning too

A well-written paragraph written by a friend, which captures the essence of teaching:

“I see preachers somewhat like teachers. There is nothing noble about being deliberately plain or boring since students are likely to tune out and the objective of learning is not met, even though the onus is also on the students to learn. But neither should the teacher entertain for the sake of it, because if the antics do not lead to learning, then they were in vain? Sometimes, I unconsciously categorise jokes between the ones which made a good point, and those which merely elicited a good laugh. :p”
